iOS 10 Concept Renders Show Dark Mode, Split-Screen Concept

Apple is expected to come out with the iOS 10 this June 13 at the WWDC 2016 though its actual roster of features has yet to be finalized. Anything can happen between from here on though a couple of concepts have spurred up the wish list of consumers for the upcoming mobile operating system.

One of the recently spotted wishes may include a “Dark Mode”, something that Apple loyalists may have already seen on MacBooks courtesy of the Mac OS X. The concept comes from iHelpBR and based on feedbacks, such has garnered positive acceptance.

For those who are unaware, the “Dark Mode” is entirely different from a current feature called the “Night Shift”. This feature came out with iOS 9.3 and is something that adjusts display colors depending on the time of the day. “Night Shift” made iPhones visually appealing at night, a different kind of render compared to the usual bright (white) theme owners have been accustomed to.

With the “Dark Mode”, iPhone owners may no longer have to wait for a certain time of the day for the background to change into something darker and appealing. Rather, it allows iPhone owners to easily customize the background and stick to that state until they opt to change it.

But where did the artist get the idea? It is believed that much of this was brought about by the dark-themed background from the updated WWDC app. The app also comes with a companion app made for Apple TV users.

Aside from the dark theme, there is another feature that folks are hoping to see and it is something prevalent to the iPad. This is the split-screen and picture feature that is now currently being used on iPads.

Unlike the “Dark Mode”, the split-screen feature may be a wiser one to hope for considering that it has already been proven and tested to run on Apple’s iOS. Though it will be interesting how a smaller-screened iPhone will handle it, it does allow folks more multi-tasking capabilities though visualizing it properly is a concern.

iOS 10 will debut next week together with OS X 10.12 as well as new versions of watchOS and tvOS. The new operating systems are expected to be part of the WWDC keynote even happening on June 13 starting at 1:00 p.m. ET. The event will be streamed live here.
