According to SlashGear, several Apple users reported unauthorized access of their personal and financial details including their PayPal accounts, Facebook accounts as well as credit cards and debit cards after they had jailbroken their iOS devices using the Pangu tool. Mobipicker reported that a hacker accessed one of the jail breaker's PayPal account from Beijing and spent $50. Some other Redditor users also reported similar hacking issues traced back to Taiwan, Vietnam, and China. It still remains unclear if these security breaches are anyway linked to the Pangu jailbreak tool.

Late last month, Pangu had initially released a Chinese version of its iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak tool, while an English version followed. The Chinese company 25PP hosted the tool and distributed it via the PPHelper tool. However, the PPHelper tool wasn't the only way to install the jailbreak. Cydia Impactor tool was used for the English version of Pangu tool. It is to be noted that most of the people who were hacked used the PPHelper tool. So, there are high chances that the PPHelper tool might be responsible for the data breaches.

Pangu has reportedly come forward to explain its stand on the issue. The company has denied all possible links with the breach issue and released a statement on twitter which read "Neither we nor 25PP would be so stupid to make money by hacking users PayPal account via jailbreak tool. We hope to find the truth asap."

The popular jailbreak team has assured users that it will investigate into the matter and find out what led to the security breach. What do you think about the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak security breach issue? Let us know in the comments section below.
