While, Rockstar Games has remained tight lipped about the next installment of the popular "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, titled "Grand Theft Auto 6," a lot of rumors about the game's possible release date, gameplay and location have been making rounds for quite some time now.

According to the Mirror, Rockstar's parent publisher, Take-Two Interactive, has confirmed that the game developer has already begun working on future projects and will be announcing them soon. "Rockstar Games also is hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon," Rockstar's latest financial report read.

While, nothing specific about "Grand Theft Auto 6" was announced, fans are hoping that the highly anticipated game will be among the ones which will get announced soon. "Red Dead Redemption 2" also has high chances of making into the list. In fact, Trusted Reviews reported that the announcement is likely to happen at Gamescom 2016 event which is scheduled to take place sometime later this month.

Previous reports claimed that the game might feature a London based map. But, according to Christian Today, the "Grand Theft Auto 6" will still remain in the United States and will be based in Jacksonville. It is assumed that Jacksonville would be an appropriate fit for the next "GTA" game as it is referred to as the "murder capital" of the U.S. But, the problem is that the place lacks popular landmarks and different types of terrain.

Among other rumors, the "GTA 5" follow up is expected to feature a female protagonist, which will be voiced by Hollywood star Eva Mendes. Mendes's real-life partner Ryan Gosling is also rumored to voice one of the game's male characters. As far as "Grand Theft Auto 6" release date is concerned, it is expected that roll out might happen in 2018.
