Samsung Gear S3 Release Date Update, Latest News: Smartwatch Already Up For Pre-orders For $450? Release In November Confirmed?

Samsung took it to the stage of the IFA 2016 Berlin event to unveil the highly anticipated Gear S3 smartwatch. Notably, nothing about the Samsung Gear S3 release date or pricing information was revealed at that time.

New reports suggest the Gear S3 smartwatch has been currently listed for pre-orders with retailer MobileFun. The UK based third-party retailer has put both the Classic as well as Frontier variants of the wearable device for pre-orders for $450 (£350 or €400) with a three week shipping timeframe, reported GSMArena. It is to be noted that Samsung is yet to officially announce a release date for the next gen smartwatch.

Talking about Samsung Gear S3 specs and features, the wearable device is the first from the tech giant to connect to higher-speed LTE networks. The Gear S2 successor is less dependent on the smartphone and allows users to track location, send text messages and stream music from Spotify directly. The smartwatch will be made available in three different variants- Classic, Frontier, and Frontier LTE.

While, the Classic and Frontier Gear S3 models feature the same specs, the two differ physically in terms of look and design. The Classic model has a stainless steel body and rotating bezel which gives a luxury watch feel. The Frontier Gear S3 variant, on the other hand, sports a rugged and tough exterior look. The Classic version is lighter in weight at 57 grams as compared to the Frontier version which weighs 62 grams.

Both the wearable devices sport a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 360 x 360 resolution, Gorilla Glass SR+ screen protection, Tizen OS, Samsung's Exynos 7270 dual 1GHz processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB of storage, built-in GPS and IP68 water resistance certification. There's also a light sensor, an accelerometer, a heart-rate monitor, an altimeter, barometer and a speedometer on board. As the name suggests, the Frontier LTE edition offers high-speed wireless Internet connectivity.

As far as Samsung Gear S3 release date is concerned, the next gen smartwatch is expected to get released on November 4, 2016.
