Facebook Starts Testing New In-App Camera That's Strikingly Similar To Snapchat Filters: Already Excited?
If you are a fan of the Snapchat app and have been wishing if your favorite Facebook app had something similar to offer, then your wait is over! Facebook has copied the Snapchat filters in a bid to revamp their in-app camera to adopt the next generation of intensified reality visual chat facility.
According to The Verge, Facebook has reportedly started testing their new camera in its primary app effective Friday that follows exactly the same photo and video filters offered by Snapchat. With this, the social media giant enters into a new phase of enmity with the very popular messaging and multimedia app.
The new Facebook camera app is believed to feature geofilters, animated selfie-masks, Prisma-fashioned transfer filters in fine art-themed style, some super sensitive filters that react to the movement of your body, and superimposed graphics. Your Facebook account will make the new camera accessible right away via the News Feed with a swift right swipe. This will allow the user to not just broadcast their status through the News Feed, but will also enable them to share the images and videos privately in a one-on-one chain using the new temporary Facebook Direct message api.
Although, the new Facebook camera may not be in the same league as Snapchat, but by adopting its best features it can retain its share of loyal users by offering something similar to its competitor. Based on a statement released by Sachin Monga (product manager of the new camera), Facebook intends to make visual sharing fast, fun and flexible, reported Tech Crunch. Monga added saying that the current changes are the next practice of their test on the Facebook camera.
However, beyond some features adopted from Snapchat and Prisma, Facebook has its own set of real good innovations with the reactive filters.
