Capcom have high hopes on the release of "Resident Evil 7," specially now that it has been receiving rave reviews from critics that are lucky enough to play the pilot release. The iconic game developer can just keep their fingers crossed that the big bucks will come in as the game receives a huge number of pre-orders.

Marketing director Antoine Molant stated that Capcom aims to sell 4 million units when "Resident Evil 7" hits the shelves. Molant adds, "Looking at what we see in the pre-orders and trends these days, we're pretty confident we are going to get there." The director did not disclose the exact pre-order figures, but he is pretty confident that the firm will hit the high mark that was set for the game.

"Resident Evil 7" may be receiving positive reviews, but Molant and his team will keep on pushing marketing efforts to promote the game. Critics are given access to near-final build copies of the game, which is a good move for the firm because it has been receiving high praises. There are reports that there is a lot of fresh content, terrifying sound design, and amazing plot twists that fans of the series will love.

The terror begins when the protagonist Ethan is seized by a strange family, a narrative that is unique from the "Resident Evil" sagas. Compared to its predecessors, "Resident Evil 7" is a first-person game, a change that is welcomed by the critics. PCGamer stated that the first-person perspective keeps the thrill alive, making the gamer feel vulnerable while exploring every room and eerie spot in the house.

Capcom released a "Midnight" demo for "Resident Evil 7," the last of the previews before the game launches next month. This is the first time that the game will be available for Xbox One and PC. Now is the best time to check out all of the sneak previews before the game's release.

"Resident Evil 7" will be released on Jan. 24, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
